FRIED SUGAR PASTRIES: SIMPLE AND DELICIOUS SWEET TREAT

Fried sugar pastries are a classic comfort food enjoyed in many cultures around the world. Soft and fluffy on the inside with a golden, crispy exterior, these pastries are coated in sugar for the perfect balance of sweetness and crunch. They are often compared to donuts or fried pies, and they make a delightful snack for breakfast, afternoon tea, or even as a party dessert.

The best part of these pastries is their simplicity. With just a few basic ingredients like flour, eggs, sugar, and milk, you can create a batch of homemade fried treats that everyone will love. They can be enjoyed plain, or filled with jam, chocolate, or custard for an extra layer of flavor.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FRIED SUGAR PASTRIES

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Add the eggs, warm milk, and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a flat circle.
  5. If using filling, place a spoonful of jam, custard, or chocolate in the center, then fold and press the edges to seal. If not using filling, leave them flat or shape as desired.
