Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Cinnamon Swirl Topping:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (for drizzling)

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk (to reach desired consistency)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Make the Cake Batter:
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  3. Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl:
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
  4. Layer the Batter and Swirl:
Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter. Pour the remaining cake batter on top, and then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture. Using a knife, swirl the toppings into the batter gently to create a marbled effect.
  5. Bake the Cake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool for about 10 minutes.
  6. Make the Cream Cheese Frosting:
In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined. Add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  7. Frost the Cake:
Once the cake has cooled, drizzle the melted butter over the top, then spread the cream cheese frosting on top.
  8. Serve:
Cut into squares and enjoy your delicious Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll Cake!
