Fruit Cobbler Recipe
Ingredients
For the Fruit Filling:
- 4 cups of fresh or frozen fruit (such as peaches, berries, apples, or cherries)
- 1/2 to 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on the sweetness of the fruit)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
For the Topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). - Prepare the Fruit Filling:
In a large bowl, combine the fruit, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch (if using). Toss until the fruit is well coated. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish (approximately 9×13 inches). - Make the Topping:
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using). Stir until just combined; it should be a bit lumpy. - Assemble the Cobbler:
Spoon the topping over the fruit filling. It’s okay if it doesn’t cover all the fruit; it will spread as it bakes. - Bake:
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean. - Cool and Serve:
Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving. It can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature, often served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Enjoy your delicious fruit cobbler!
