CREAMY PAPRIKA STEAK SHELLS

Ingredients:

  • For the Steak:
  • 1 pound steak (sirloin, ribeye, or your choice), cut into strips
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • For the Creamy Paprika Sauce:
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • For the Pasta:
  • 12 oz pasta shells or your preferred pasta
  • Salt, for the pasta water

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta:
  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  1. Prepare the Steak:
  • Season the steak strips with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak strips and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  1. Make the Creamy Paprika Sauce:
  • In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in the paprika, then add the beef broth, and bring to a simmer. Allow it to cook for a couple of minutes to reduce slightly.
  • Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Allow the sauce to simmer gently until it thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
  1. Combine:
  • Add the cooked steak back into the skillet and stir to coat the steak in the sauce.
  • Add the cooked pasta shells to the skillet and gently toss everything together until well-coated with the creamy sauce.
  1. Serve:
  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your creamy paprika steak shells!

Tips:

  • You can add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra color and nutrition.
  • Adjust the seasoning according to your taste, adding more paprika or seasoning as desired.
  • For a little heat, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.

Enjoy your delicious creamy paprika steak shells!
