Amish Zebra Cashew Clusters
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cashew halves
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
- Sea salt, for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare Baking Sheet:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Melt the Chocolate:
- In separate bowls, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. You can use a microwave or a double boiler:
- Microwave: Heat chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until fully melted and smooth.
- Double Boiler: Place a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring until melted.
- Mix in Cashews:
- Once the chocolate is melted, mix the cashew halves into the semi-sweet chocolate until they are well coated.
- Form Clusters:
- Using a spoon, drop clusters of the cashew and chocolate mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Make sure to create small piles so they can cool and set into clusters.
- Drizzle White Chocolate:
- Using a fork or a piping bag, drizzle the melted white chocolate over the clusters to create a “zebra” effect.
- Add Sea Salt (Optional):
- If desired, sprinkle a little sea salt on top before the chocolate sets for a sweet and salty flavor.
- Set:
- Let the clusters sit at room temperature until the chocolate has fully cooled and set. You can also place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for quicker setting.
- Serve:
- Once set, remove the clusters from the parchment and enjoy! Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
Tips:
- For a touch of elegance, consider using flavored chocolate (like dark or milk chocolate) for a twist on the classic recipe.
- Feel free to mix in other nuts or even dried fruits for added flavor and texture!
These Amish Zebra Cashew Clusters are sure to be a hit, bringing smiles and compliments just like your other favorite recipes! Enjoy making and sharing them this holiday season!
