Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll Cake Recipe
Ingredients
For the Cake:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon Swirl:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons milk (as needed)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Prepare the Cake Batter:
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix together melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Make the Cinnamon Swirl:
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter until well combined.
- Layer the Cake and Cinnamon Swirl:
- Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Dollop the cinnamon swirl mixture over the batter, then use a knife or a fork to swirl it in gently.
- Pour the remaining cake batter on top and smooth it out.
- Bake the Cake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Add milk as necessary to achieve your desired consistency.
- Frost the Cake: Once the cake has cooled for about 15 minutes, spread the cream cheese frosting over the top.
