- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1 cup pineapple chunks (canned, drained or fresh)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Slow Cooker:
- Spray the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Combine Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, pineapple chunks, soy sauce, brown sugar (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, and ground ginger. Mix well.
- Add Meatballs:
- Place the frozen meatballs into the slow cooker. Pour the pineapple and barbecue sauce mixture over the meatballs, ensuring they are well coated.
- Cook:
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, or until the meatballs are heated through and cooked to your liking.
- Serve:
- Once cooked, gently stir the meatballs to coat them in the sauce again.
- Serve them on their own as an appetizer, or over rice, or in a sandwich for a main dish.
- Garnish:
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving for added flavor and presentation.
Tips:
- You can make your own meatballs by mixing ground meat with breadcrumbs, egg, and seasonings if you prefer homemade.
- This recipe is easily adjustable; feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or onions for extra flavor and nutrition.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Enjoy your Crockpot Pineapple Barbecue Meatballs! They’re sure to be a hit with family and friends.
