Homemade Joe’s Crab Shack-Style Meal
Ingredients:
For the Crab Boil:
- 1 lb crab legs (snow or king crab)
- 2-3 ears of corn, cut in half
- 1 lb small red potatoes
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, quartered
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- 4-5 liters water
- Salt (to taste)
For the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crab Boil:
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add Old Bay seasoning, garlic, onion, and salt.
- Add potatoes and corn to the boiling water. Cook for about 10-15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
- Add the crab legs and shrimp. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Stir in Old Bay seasoning, parsley, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well.
- Serve:
- Strain the crab boil and arrange it on a large platter.
- Serve with lemon wedges and the garlic butter sauce on the side for dipping.
